Fall Orange

Silk Pattern Top: Kenneth Cole.  Studded Cardigan: Banana Republic.  Pants: Ann Taylor.  Purse: Nicole Miller.  Shoes: Nine West.

I’m wearing gray again today, however – I have paired it with my statement pops of color.  This bright orange purse seems a perfect match for the crisp Fall weather and my cardigan keeps me cozy through a long work day.

TIP: Details like these cardigan studs and blouse v-neck pleats are great little tricks to bring attention up to the face and neck area.

Preppy Vest

Top & Vest: Express.  Pants: NY&Co.  Pumps: Nina.

I always feel very “business-y” in a vest.  Maybe because it reminds me of the TV shows of my youth that represented all the smart preppy kids (soon to be business people) in vests.  Remember Jessie Spano from Saved by the Bell?  Look – she’s even wearing a very fashionable headband below!

Sweater Love

Sweater: Express.  Pattern Oxford: Express.  Pants: NY & Company.  Boots: Aldo.  Necklace: Lia Sophia.

Keeping it clean and simple today, but I will say the one special thing for me is that I adore this sweater.  I’m not normally a “buy in pairs” sort of girl, but with this sweater I did!  I bought 2, but had to seriously resist the urge to buy one in every color…  I like the comfortable neckline that can be worn plain or easily layered, I like the slimming gathering detail down the front, and the cotton has a wonderful soft but stretchy feel to it.  Yes, Fall is upon us and I’m embracing it!

Miss Cincinnati

Top: Ann Taylor LOFT.  Pants: Express.  Jacket: Apt 9.

Wrap shirts and dresses have been a popular trend for a while now as they are so flattering for almost all figure types, but this ruffle wrap top actually reminds be of a Miss America sash.  I didn’t even realize it until I looked at my pictures tonight!

I love my ruffle wrap sweater, but God help us if pageant attire is the new trend…!  LOL

A Cut Above

DSCF4566 DSCF4569 DSCF4574

Cut-out blouse: Forever XXI.  Pants: Ann Taylor Loft.  Necklace: Macy’s.  Bracelet: Forever XXI.  Shoes: Nine West.

I’m always a fan of fun little details, and this cut out top is one of my favorites.  It also has great seaming on the front which is flattering and works well with or without accessories.

Also – women of the world – check out Ann Taylor Loft pants.  It was my first time trying them out and they fit surprisingly well.  I bought 2 pair!

Wild Child

Pants: Younique.  Boyfriend Beater Tank: Target ??  Heech Wedges: Nine West.DSCF4544

Not the normal look for me, but it felt so fabulous!  This is more of what I wear around the house – tank tops and comfy pants or shorts (minus the heels…)

Nope, I did not do my hair – unless you call flipping my head upside down for 20 seconds with a blow-dryer hairstyling…  And nope, the make-up was hardly there either.

I was meeting a friend of mine for Sunday brunch and final-day-of-the-weekend sales shopping, and just went natural – with the addition of fabulous shoes of course.

What a difference shoes make!  Sometimes they’re all you need to pull an outfit together.

Just a little layer

DSCF4450 Ruffle stripe button up: NY & Co.  Vest: Express.  Pants: Kohl’s.  Shoes: Nine West.  Earrings: Lia Sophia.

I went with more of a typical business casual look than my norm today.  I like to pair this button up with a vest or cardigan layer of some sort and I always love blue and purple together, so that was an easy pairing.

Know what you love

Pattern Top: Express. Cardigan: Macy’s.  Trousers: Worthington.  Belt: Love Couture.  Shoes: Stuart Wietzman.

DSCF4387DSCF4384

This may look like an overly-warm outfit for mid June, but it’s always so cold in the office!!  I typically keep a nice little cardigan on the back of my chair at work in case I need a little extra coverage, so today I decided just to put it on in the morning instead.

You know I love my belts… so I added this fun mesh flower belt to match my trousers, a colored shoe – and I’m off for the day.

I believe fashion can be easy as long as you know what you love, and aren’t afraid of trying new ways to wear the clothing items you already have in your closet.  I can’t remember the last time I wore the same outfit twice…!

Sadly, it’s back to work today…   :(

On the positive side - what better way to try and brighten things up than brightening up my wardrobe?!?  Hello orange!

Business, Black, &… Boop!

DSCF4351 DSCF4352 DSCF4355 DSCF4356

Striped Tank: Banana Republic.  Blazer: H&M.  Pants: INC.  Shoes: Guess.  Necklace: NY&Co?

DSCF4352 - Copy

I was toga / Greek inspired with my necklace today and Betty Boop / pin-up inspired with my shoes.  Other than those couple of fun details, I was pretty business basic today.  Yes, you can probably tell when I am running a meeting at work, can’t you?  …LOL…  I always seem to go for black or black & red on those days.

Swap Shop – in my own closet!

I was indecisive this morning – so was swapping back and forth between pants and a skirt.

Which do you prefer?  Click Here To Vote!

When I was looking at these pics I was laughing to myself thinking that a certain friend of mine would tell me that I wasn’t matching.

True – I have multiple colors going on:

  • necklace = blue & gold
  • top = brown
  • pants = navy
  • skirt = pinstripe gray
  • shoes = purple

… but the top and bottom are really neutrals, so I figure the other colors can be “whatever”.

Pant-O-Rama

Black silk ruffle bow top: Chadwicks.  Cropped slacks: Express.  Shoes: Nine West.  Bracelet: Macy’s.  Bag: DSW.

One of the reasons I don’t wear pants as often as skirts and dresses is that they always lose their shape and end up saggy by the end of the day.  As random as it seems, these are the only pants that truly keep their shape on me.  Yes, they are my nice-ass pants (no I did not take a picture to show you..!).  If I could find more pants that actually fit me like this and kept as flattering silhouette, you might actually see me wear them more!  In the meantime, I’m sure I’ll be back to a skirt or dress again soon…
