I’m not a huge fan of tone on tone, but I do like different shades of the same color together. This light purple top is a little pale for my coloring, so bringing in a deeper purple shade in the blazer brings not only definition to the outfit, but makes it a more flattering color combo for me overall.

A sleek business look for this working day. I really wanted to highlight the fun necklace and thought it stood out well against the black. Over the last year or so I’ve collected quite a few more gold items than I ever used to. I probably still wear silver or colored jewelry more, but really I love them all!

Yep, I’m a sucker for black, white, and red. It’s such a classic combination, and works so well in a professional environment.
This outfit is mostly vintage (both dress & purse) with just a few modern accessories (belt & shoes). I had about 5 vintage purses in tow at Moxie in DeKalb, IL and finally limited it to this one. I don’t think Moxie sells any of their vintage pieces online, but if you’re ever in DeKalb – make sure you check it out!

I did actually purchase these shoes with the intent that they would be “going out” shoes, however, they’ve been collecting dust in my closet for a month now – so I just went ahead and wore them to work. I kept the colors neutral and wore a conservative dress (vintage thrift find), so I figured that would balance out the sexier shoe (BCBG).
Little did I know what a hit they would be!! I received several compliments on them throughout the day (from both men and women!), so they definitely made good on their first work debut.
