Maybe it’s the chilly weather or something, but I haven’t been in a uber color-lovin’ mood of late.  One thing I clearly am still in the mood for is leggings.  They’re so warm and stretchy.  While I wasn’t initially a big fan, now I wish they would always be in style…

One of the reasons I wasn’t a fan at first was that I simply wasn’t sure how to wear them without letting all the “junk in my trunk” hang out.  I saw all these very thin petite girls wearing leggings and thought they just wouldn’t be flattering on me.  That is – until I discovered the tunic (duh), and also tried them more recently with dresses (again duh).  Either way - perfection.

I only have 2 pair of leggings (may buy more this week…), but I definitely put them to use.  Below are a few of my legging ensembles:

I adore this zipper dress from PB&J Boutique, but actually find it quite short for my 5’8” frame.  When standing, the length is okay, but if I have to sit, bend, or move whatsoever… it’s just not really appropriate.  My solution – leggings!  Yep, my weekends seem to filled with them of late and that’s perfectly fine by me.  I honestly feel like I’m in my pajamas when I wear them I’m so comfortable (and you know I love that!).

Another fabulous fall addition – a light jacket and a scarf.  This combo can be mixed and matched a million  ways and will always add interest and definition to an outfit (plus added warmth for these chilly Fall days).

Leggings!

10DSCF5256

This past weekend was filled with leggings.  Granted, they’re not really my normal style, but oh my lord they are so wonderfully comfortable and warm during this chilly fall weather.

Comfort clothing works similarly to comfort food for me.  Whenever I’m feeling down, stressed, or frustrated, I just reach for the clothing articles that most closely replicate pajamas and I’m suddenly much more prepared to face the day..

Cirque Du Soleil!

 DSCF4178 DSCF4176  DSCF4179

What do you wear to Cirque Du Soleil?  I almost opted for jeans, but then decided to wear something a little more fun – pattern leggings!  It was a dreary day with a high chance of rain, so I didn’t want to wear little heel or anything with open toes.  Boots did the trick!

It was a fabulous show and I am now inspired to seriously start working out more – those people are SO strong and amazingly flexible.  I love it!  They seemed inhuman or something…

Rosebud tunic: ELLE.  Leggings: Apt 9.  Boots: Madden Girls.  Red Rose: Forever XXI.  Purse: Vintage.  Bracelet: Macy’s.

Party Girl

DSCF4071DSCF4075

Jacket: Macy’s.  Prints Silk Tunic/Dress: Love Culture.  Faux Snake Leggings: Forever XXI.  Boots: Chadwicks.  Necklace: Macy’s.

Going out with the girls on Saturday night!  The group wasn’t actually made up of “my girls” but my friend’s friend’s girls… Does that make sense?  Anyway – it was a great night out downtown eating, a little drinking (some more than others!), a shuffle or two of dancing, and a lot of laughs.

Sometimes I think I’m made up of 2 different people...  I have the homebody side of me that just loves to be in comfy clothes, cook, watch movies, and cuddle up on the couch with a steaming cup of coffee and a good book.  And then there’s the side of me that’s more outgoing and likes to get out and party it up.  I’m probably much more the homebody now, but it was a nice change to be reminded of the other side too!

Little Red Rosie…

DSCF3865DSCF3864

Black Tunic: ELLE.  Leggings: JC Penny’s.  Necklace: Thrift.  Red Rose Clip: Forever XXI.  Boots: Dolce Vita.

I wore this outfit on a thrifting day with Kasmira.  It was SOO comfortable!!  It must have been good luck too, because we found quite a few great items on our trip!

I love hair accessories (headbands, scarves, etc..), but I just never think they look very good on me (I think it’s my face shape or something…).  However – this little rose clip worked quite well and added a little color to the darker ensemble!  Hooray for trying new things!

Jacket: Forever XXI.  Leggings: Forever XXI.  Shoes: Jessica Simpson.

I felt like cat woman in this look… it may have been a little black overkill, but who cares!?!  I felt like keeping it dark.

I wore this outfit to a going away party for my best friend’s sister who is joining the National Guard.  We went out downtown and had a wonderful time.  I love my “adopted” family!
